The mission of Northglade Montessori Magnet School, a diverse nurturing family of students, educators and parents, is to prepare each student to become a well-educated, responsible and respectful contributor to family and community by enhancing academic achievement through a literature-rich curriculum that integrates technology, addresses individual needs (social, emotional, academic, and physical) and unique talents, in partnership with family and the community.
February Is Black History Month!!!
Use this month to continue discovering, reviewing, and reflecting on the positive and important contributions made by African Americans in this country. We are very thankful for the life-changing gifts bestowed upon us from many African-American inventors, scientists, doctors, civil rights leaders, politicians, teachers, etc.
At Northglade, we pride ourselves on guiding students in recognizing the good deeds of others as they discover their own gifts and talents to positively impact our world. Join us in studying African-American History by
presenting oral reports during the morning announcements. All students are also encouraged to share family projects, pictures, and/or stories that highlight the rich culture of African-Americans.

“There is a part of a child’s soul that has always been unknown but which must be known. With a spirit of sacrifice and enthusiasm we must go in search, like those who travel to foreign lands and tear up mountains in their search for hidden gold.”
--Dr. Maria Montessori
February’s Grace & Courtesy Focal Points:
• Show random acts of kindness toward others.
• Say, “Thank you” and “I appreciate your kindness,” as you receive your meals from others.
• Carry your work caddies or bins with grace.
• Keep feet on the floor while closing lockers.
• Handle your work plans or records with care. Avoid doodles, stray marks, or folds on the surface.
