EAT SMART…LIVE HEALTHY!

The experts report that children need healthy meals/snacks to learn and develop strong bodies. Parents can help by avoiding ingredients high in fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils (trans fats), artificial colors and flavors, preservatives and MSG, pesticides, sodium, and genetically modified ingredients. It is best to serve organic and fresh foods whenever possible. Take the healthy lifestyle challenge by gradually making small changes in meals using healthy ingredients.

(Please donate any of the following items from Requests #1 & #2. Your much needed contributions can be dropped off in the school office.)

REQUEST #1: Gently Used Games and Craft Materials (These items are needed for daily enrichment time to support PTO- purchased materials.)

REQUEST #2: Classrooms are in need of Kleenex, cups, napkins, plastic cutlery, room deodorizers, hand towels, snacks, and baskets.

REQUEST #3: Parent Volunteers Needed (Assistance is needed with Teacher Appreciation Week during May 12-16, 2007.) Contact Mrs. Bolhuis if you are interested in joining the planning team.

• Week of March 5^th - Scholastic Book Fair in Room C1. Shop at the book fair during the school day for fiction and nonfiction titles. Contact Mrs. Mitchell if you are available to help.
• Monday, March 5^th - Letters of Intent Due to the office.
• Tuesday, March 13^th – PTO/School Improvement Meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. and concludes promptly at 8:00 p.m. Please plan on attending! (Free Pizza Meal & Babysitting Provided.)
• Thursday, March 22^nd – Kindergarten Orientation (9:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. & 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.)
• Monday, March 26^th (4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.) & Wednesday, March 28^th (12:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.) – Spring Parent Teacher Conferences
• Half Days on Wednesday, March 28^th & Thursday, March 29^th & No School on Friday, March 30^th for K-6^th.
• Monday, April 2^nd – Friday, April 6^th – Spring Break
• Monday, May 28^th – No School – Memorial Day
