Students to Take Upcoming District Tests

Students in grades second through sixth are
scheduled to take the district-level
EdPerformance Test that measures achievement
in reading and mathematics. The Cognitive
Abilities Test will be administered to third
third graders. Tests are scheduled over the next three
weeks. Please make sure that your child(ren) are
prepared by eating healthy meals, receiving
adequate test, and demonstrating their personal best.


What is Bach Around the Clock?

Our wonderful E2 choir has spent a great deal of
time practicing for an upcoming concert to honor
famous composer J.S Bach. Students will
showcase their talents with other school in the
county. Please plan on supporting this grand
performance on Saturday, March 18, 2006, at the
Kalamazoo College-Dalton Fine Arts Building (Main
Theater). Two free performances are scheduled
for 1:30 p.m. & 4:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed
to transport students. Mrs. Hickman can be
reached at Northglade on Wednesday and Friday
of this week if you need to reserve tickets or are
available to transport students.

Important Announcement

Superintendent Dr. Janice Brown will hold a
meeting on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at 6:30 p.m.

Please Vote on Election Day—May 2nd!!!

The Kalamazoo Public School District is seeking an $85.5 million bond issue for construction of new buildings, facility, and classroom improvements at each district facility, and technology upgrades.

Every school building in the district will receive improvements. Here are the improvements for Northglade Montessori Magnet School:

  • Remodel east 2 toilet rooms
  • Replace cafeteria lighting
  • Replace classroom lighting in old section
  • Replace secondary clocks
  • Provide 30-student computer lab
  • Replace 19 corridor doors and hardware
  • Install carpet in 12 classrooms (1/2 of each room)
  • Install ceramic tile and fixtures in restroom C7a
  • Replace cabinetry and sinks in 13 classrooms
  • Install security system for the front entrance
  • Purchase equipment
  • Extend p.a. system to include corridors
