Please send in canned goods, books, and household items to fill baskets for families in need this season. Holiday Baskets will be sent home on Friday, December 16, 2005.

We are Now Collecting…
Box Tops, Campbell’s Soup Labels, Felpausch Receipts, and Ink Cartridges as Fundraisers.

Book Nook (October 2005 – May 2006)
Twice a week (Tuesday mornings and Wednesday afternoons), students have the opportunity to purchase inexpensive reading materials in the library. Contact PTO member Mrs. Bolhuis at 337-0700 to assist.

Holiday Cooking is Fun and Educational!!!!

Consider involving your entire family in preparing holiday meals this season. Cooking great tasting meals is not only practical but reinforces basic academic and life skills in many of the following areas:

• Reading: Following recipes
• Chemistry: Mixing ingredients
• Math: Measuring, doubling, and timing
• Counting: Setting the table
• Budgeting: Comparison shopping
• Attention to detail: Following recipes and planning meals
• Strength Building: Carrying groceries
• Small-Muscle Dexterity: Chopping, sifting, and pouring
• Creativity: Meal Planning
• Responsibility: Completing tasks
